Assisters, LLC("Assisters," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our platform. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, and your choices regarding their use.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and provide information to website owners.

We also use similar technologies such as local storage and session storage to store small amounts of data on your device.

2. Types of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the platform to function properly. They include:

  • Authentication cookies: To keep you signed in securely
  • Session cookies: To maintain your session state
  • Security cookies: To protect against fraud and unauthorized access
  • Preference cookies: To remember your settings (like dark mode)

Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality:

  • Theme preferences: Light/dark mode settings
  • Chat history: Conversation state within sessions
  • User preferences: Dashboard layout and display settings

  • Supabase (self-hosted on our VPS) — authentication cookies; no third-party data sharing

5. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, we use local storage for:

  • User preferences: Theme settings, sidebar state
  • Visitor identification: For embedded Assisters (anonymous visitor IDs)
  • Draft content: Temporary storage of unsaved work

Local storage data persists until you clear your browser data or we explicitly remove it.

6. Your Choices & How to Manage Cookies

You have the following options for managing cookies and your consent (GDPR Art. 7, ePrivacy Directive):

  • Cookie preference centre: Use the banner at the bottom of your screen on first visit. Logged-in users can also manage preferences from Settings → Privacy (includes Withdraw All Consent).
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): We honour the GPC browser signal. If your browser sends Sec-GPC: 1, we automatically disable optional tracking without requiring banner interaction (CCPA/CPRA, CO CPA, CT CTDPA).
  • Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies in Settings → Privacy. Blocking essential cookies may affect platform functionality (login, payments).
  • GA4 opt-out: Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent GA4 tracking across all sites.
  • Essential cookies: Cannot be disabled as they are strictly necessary for authentication and payment security.

7. Cookie Duration

Cookies we use fall into two categories based on their duration:

  • Session cookies: These are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies: These remain on your device for a set period (e.g., authentication tokens may last up to 30 days).

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.
